Choosing the right walking gear for a puppy involves considering a few key factors:

• Collar: Choose a soft, adjustable collar that won’t irritate the puppy’s delicate skin. It shouldn’t be too tight or loose – you should be able to fit a few fingers between the collar and the puppy’s neck.
  
  
• Harness: These are often considered as a more ergonomic and safe option compared to a collar since the pressure is divided more evenly on the body. Look for adjustable, ergonomic designs that don’t restrict movement. 

  The harness should have plenty of adjustability in all areas to ensure it fits a rapidly growing puppy for as long as possible.

Always measure your dog before ordering supplies. Measure the areas where the harness straps would go – around the neck and chest. Pay close attention to the neck circumference: it should be measured lower, over the chest bone, not where the collar usually sits.
